MONDAYS from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

**NO MEETING ON MEMORIAL DAY 5/27**
Master Gardeners' Project at Rancocas (Ages 16+)
Volunteers will meet Mondays from 10am-12pm at the Rancocas Nature Center. This is an opportunity for folks who love to garden or are new to gardening to work with a few of our local Master Gardeners. Participants will help keep our native plant gardens looking amazing and full of flowers and plants to attract and host wildlife. Whether your goal is to learn more about gardening and native plants, need help identifying weeds, want to meet some plant loving friends (gardeners are cool people... but I might be biased lol) or just to get outside and get a little exercise, we would love to have you join! You do not need to come every week, whenever you are available, we would appreciate the help. We have tools and gloves, but feel free to bring your own gloves if you would like. Hope to see you this gardening season! No experience necessary.

Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
No Registration. Simply show up when you can.
Email education@rancocasnaturecenter.org with any questions.

Volunteer at the Rancocas Nature Center
If you have some free time and would like to give back, consider becoming a regular volunteer at Rancocas. Below are descriptions of the various things we may need help with.

Ages 13+ only. Volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian whenever they're at the Center.

For group volunteering opportunities, email education@rancocasnaturecenter.org
Animal Care
Volunteers will prepare food for and feed the turtles and frogs that reside inside our Visitor's Center. Volunteers will also help maintain healthy environments for all of our animals, by changing water, changing bedding, cleaning tanks, etc. All animal care volunteers must be responsible and self-directed, and comfortable handling animals. New volunteers will meet the animals and be shown feeding and animal care procedures.

Educational Assistant
Volunteers may coordinate with and assist Rancocas educators with on and off-site educational programming. Volunteers may be asked to assist in set-up, in handling animals, presentation of materials, assist in cleanup, etc.

Front Desk
Volunteers will greet visitors, ring up any purchases, answer visitor questions, and answer phones. All front desk volunteers must be responsible and self-directed, and must be comfortable working with electronic payment systems and computers. Volunteers must also be able to lift at least 40lbs (when someone buys birdseed.) New volunteers will be taught all front desk procedures and will have Rancocas staff on-site while volunteering.

Gardening
Primarily in the Spring and Summer, volunteers may coordinate with and assist Rancocas educators and staff in caring for our various gardens, either individually or in groups. Volunteers must be responsible and self-directed, and must be comfortable with independent work, and getting dirty.

Office & Computer Tasks
Volunteers may coordinate with Rancocas educators and staff to help organize mailings, paperwork, media in our digital archives, create spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations, Word documents, etc.

Public Program Help
Volunteers may coordinate with and assist Rancocas educators and staff during our larger on-site public programs, such as our Maple Sugaring, Star Watch, and Santa Quest programs. Various jobs will be required to be filled in order for these programs to continue to be successful, such as set-up, clean-up, parking, ticket-taking, trail guide, etc.

Trail Upkeep
Volunteers may coordinate with and assist Rancocas educators and staff in keeping our hiking trails clear of branches, brush, leaves, overgrowth, etc. Volunteers may also assist in occasional removal of invasive plants along and near the trails. Volunteers must be responsible and self-directed, and must be comfortable getting dirty.
