Friends of Rancocas Nature Center
VISION STATEMENT
The vision of the Friends of Rancocas Nature Center is that all will have an understanding of the interrelationships between the natural and social sciences in the Rancocas State Park and Rancocas Watershed and their connection to its geology, its plants and animals, its agrarian culture, and its people─ current, past and future, including Native Americans, colonial Quakers, and free African Americans of the Timbuctoo settlement.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Friends of Rancocas Nature Center is to provide hands-on, science-based environmental education, and stewardship and recreational opportunities, within the cultural and historical setting of the Rancocas State Park and surrounding geographical area.
Friends of Rancocas Nature Center (FRNC) formed in January 2013 when NJ Audubon abruptly announced it was closing its Burlington County satellite center. FRNC has now run the Nature Center independently since May 1, 2013 by partnering with the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders; NJ State Park Service Division of Parks & Forestry; Westampton Township; and Rancocas Conservancy. As part of its mission to promote stewardship and provide environmental education for the Rancocas State Park and surrounding communities through the operation of the Rancocas Nature Center, FRNC continues to reach out to local businesses and supporters to help sustain its financial security.
